I have been fortunate to receive a number of awards—as a student, teacher, and researcher. I view these distinctions as recognition of the diligence with which I have always approached my work.
I am deeply grateful to the institutions that chose to honor the work I have done, whether individually or in collaboration. These awards serve as motivation to continue striving for more—and better.

Outstanding Paper Award at the IADIS International Conference on Information Systems 2014
Diploma of Recognition of Pedagogical Merit of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho 2021 for high pedagogical merit and quality of teaching/learning activities in the 2019/2020 academic year (distinction granted in the first edition in which the diplomas of pedagogical merit were awarded). This award had a special significance, as it reflected evaluation by first-year undergraduate students in the Fundamentals of Computer Programming course—traditionally regarded as highly demanding and labor-intensive. To enable a more informed judgment, the following descriptive statistics are provided for that course during that academic year: 184 enrolled students, 83% pass rate among enrollees, mean score of 13.4 (on a 20-point scale), with a standard deviation of 2.0.
Outstanding Paper Award at the IADIS International Conference on Information Systems 2022
Diploma of Recognition of Pedagogical Merit of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho 2025 for high pedagogical merit and quality of teaching/learning activities in the 2023/2024 academic year. Receiving this award was also very fulfilling as it represented the evaluations from postgraduate students in a course—Management of Information Systems—that requires them to articulate and integrate business, organizational, and technological issues at an advanced level. To enable a more informed judgment, the following descriptive statistics are provided for that course during that academic year: 158 enrolled students, 80% pass rate among enrollees, mean score of 13.9 (on a 20-point scale), with a standard deviation of 1.6.
